Jerry Ardolino, author of EXTREME COP: CHICAGO PD is an Ex-Chicago Police Officer who served approximately 5 years in that department.  He had the wildest, most violent career in the history of the Chicago Police Department which means, he’s the wildest, most violent cop in the history of the world.  The story takes place in the mid 1970s and continues through the millennium.    

Jerry graduated the Chicago Police Academy in 1973, attended Chicago City College on a U.S. Department of Justice grant studying Behavioral Science and Law and graduated the nationally recognized combined Police Science/Criminology Program of the Chicago Police Training Division and Northwestern University.  And there is a lot more to this author than knowing how to handle blue steel, a baton and a fast squad car.

While on the department he became an arms and munitions dealer as well as a police and military leathergoods manufacturer.  His business grew to large proportions in the first six months and he made the decision to leave the department.  He branched off into the western leather business shortly thereafter and in the 1980s formed a separate company dealing in antiques, rare books, antique, swords, and continuing a tradition: fine jewelry.  He is a recipient of the prestigious GIA Diamonds Certificate

During the 1980s, through his police and military equipment business, he became involved with other police departments, high-ranking military officers and operatives in the U.S. Government Intelligence community.  In addition to his company’s other equipment, he also started to design quality knives for military and hunting use. Through many articles written about his products, he became a supplier of leather equipment and fighting knives to many U.S. Navy SEALs; U.S. Marines; West German GSG9 Anti-Terrorist personnel; many Royal Hong Kong Police; British SAS personnel; British SBS Royal Marine Commandos; Asian Narcotics Police; Royal Family Bodyguards; U.S. Army Special Forces and many more.  He had the honor of being the only person ever given permission to make a holster set commemorating the Texas Rangers to be offered to the public and to stamp the Texas Ranger Star and name into each holster. 

As if running three companies was not enough, Jerry started to do something he had won awards for as a youth: write.  He has collected and read thousands of books since an early age and in fact; owns one of the finest and most complete private reference libraries in Texas and a comprehensive collection of items—both antique and modern—to match many of the subjects in the books.  As an adult, he started writing advertising copy in the late 1970s and then his first outdoor article was published in 1986.  He then wrote numerous catalogs and because he has been gifted in art since age three, winning awards in all schools he attended, handled all art direction.

A true Renaissance man, Jerry is also a martial artist for over 30 years and former Texas school district martial arts instructor; a former YMCA soccer coach; former cub scout master; is a published photographer and outdoor article writer; an artist whose paintings and drawings have sold in major art markets around the U.S.; a musician for over 40 years; a former Texas paralegal; an expert marksman; swordsman and collector of antique swords; an advanced amateur naturalist; history scholar and outdoor adventurer who is an expert with the American Bullwhip.

Since he resigned from the department, even while running the businesses he has always been involved in high-level security ops on an international level having been a courier of documents, diamonds and gold.
